Objectives
WP1 objectives are to provide high throughput sequencing and genotyping tools to perform efficient genetic studies in RAPSODYN and to support OSR breeding programs regarding NUE and yield. Re-sequencing of B. napus lines will boost marker discovery at the whole genome scale and sequencing of trait-associated regions will be the basis for candidate gene identification. In addition, all the genetic resources used in RAPSODYN will be genotyped in WP1 using ad hoc tools.
WP1 will:
1- Identify genome wide SNPs through the re-sequencing of the NAM founder B. napus line.
2- Identify trait-associated SNPs through the sequencing of targeted QTLs/loci and use of these markers to characterize new genetic diversity.
3- Provide genotyping data for all the genetic resources used in RAPSODYN at the right marker density and at the right timing.
4- Design diagnostic markers to improve monitoring of the most interesting alleles controlling yield variation under N constraints in plant material devoted to research purposes or breeding programs.
