Objectives
WP3 aims at developing combined approaches to 1) decipher the genetic and molecular bases of key factors impacting yield and oil content in the context of limited N input, and 2) explore the range of genetic variability available for these traits. Regarding the development of hybrids cultivars, a third objective is to estimate the reliability of the most important genomic regions identified for inbred material in heterozygous situation. Finally, WP3 aimed at providing key genomics regions or predictive tools for the breeding purposes presented in WP4. The realisation of the work presented in WP3 will rely on the genomic data provided by WP1 and the definition of adapted phenotyping tools for NUE provided by WP2 as well as the bioinformatics support of WP5.

WP3 will:
1- Provide the phenotypic characterization of specific plant material dedicated to resolutive genetic analyses of oil yield under low N nutrition.
2- Describe the global genetic architecture of oil yield under low N in winter oilseed rape germplasm.
3- Characterize the major QTLs/loci previously identified under heterozygous context and estimate the dominance effect at these loci.
4- Characterize the potential genetic diversity for N-related traits and oil yield and permit to acquire knowledge on the introduction of genetic diversity within winter oilseed rape germplasm using semi-synthetics.
